Kukai Fundation on Solidworks 2022

I used to say in Karen’s intro post that I could try making Kukai Fundation, and now I think I’m halfway there.
I tried to design Kukai Fundation on solidworks2022. Uh~~ Compared with 3dmax, I am more proficient in solidworks, the design software. I use 2022, but I will also try to generate common files later, so that if you use a lower version, you can also use it. I also generate stl and obj files so you can 3d print them or put them into other renderers.

THIS IS SO COOL, now I just need to 3D print it large enough to live there…

Thank you!

Thanks and if you need I can upload the stl files.I can upload STEP/IGS/SLDPRT files if needed.
emmm, well, I tried it in Cura but it seems to add a lot of support that is hard to remove, PVA filament is recommended. There are some very thin structures in the middle, and it is recommended to enhance the padding there. And you need to design a part of the support yourself or increase the number of faces in solidworks (at those connecting axes).
I want to try using the cnc in school after school starts but I feel like it might need a 5 axis linkage system or at least 3+2 axes

By the way, what else do you want to see? I will try to make it later (don’t choose the shape too difficult, please)

Here are the OBJ and STL files, the Solidworks files should be unnecessary, or I will upload them if needed

I can consider it as a resource when I have a better internet environment

This is gorgeous, and makes me think of everyone on the Foundation working to build their beautiful space island!

Thank you Karen,Your idea is also wonderful, it’s really good to see everyone living together in peace!

Ok everyone, considering that Mediafire files can only be kept for 15 days, I have uploaded them as resources. The resources are divided into two groups, one is the normal version and the other is the advanced version

This looks awesome!!
I can already see the details coming together, and I’m excited to see it finished. So glad you decided to post this.

Thanks! I thought about it in mid-July, and it took a while (mostly because of the timing interruptions due to something in the middle) to design it.

Just a quick question, is there anyone else here who is familiar with solidworks or uses it regularly for modeling? It feels like a lot of people use 3dmax or blender. . .

Me!

I use Blender because it’s free, open source, and runs on Linux.

Haha, learning this kind of stuff is always very complicated, I’m still stuck on 3dmax’s camera system.
I know OpenSCAD, it’s a very nice software.
If anyone needs this kind of software (be it CAD, CAM, PLC or even Adobe series), you can come to me and writing brush!

THIS IS AMAZING???

This looks great! I’ve also tried printing, but it sucks…

I’m now trying to figure out how to do simple sculpting with aluminum or other materials. My idea is to split it into upper and lower parts and then weld the middle part using wire/thin carving

This is amazing WIP. I can’t wait to see more.

You legitimately amaze me, dude. Excellent work, both of you!!!

Thank you~~, I think my initial model seems to have a problem with the design of the small support, I hope I can find some time to solve it
