Last year we started something called Narrated JRPG - Xenogears. The idea was to record gameplay of Xenogears and then adapt it for the visually impaired. With audio description as narrations and voice actors playing the various characters.
We have released episode 5 a few months back and as life got suddenly way busier, the editing had to take a little back seat while things got taken care of. As things have slowed down now and I am able to work on the project a lot more. I have determined that the project is so large that second editor would really help move the project forward. I do all the editing myself, but with other aspects of the project and going back to school. Someone who could edit half an episode would really help out. I would edit the other half. You would have equal creative rights to the project as well.
While this is a passion project, I understand time is precious. I’m happy to have a private conversation in Discord about what said person would need to make this happen.
I know this isn’t a video editing community, but I rather find someone who cares/loves the series vs someone who has no idea what the series means. If anyone is interested, let me know. Thank you.
Ah yeah I kinda feel that as well. I have some Adobe Premiere experience, but unfortunately I don’t think I would be able to lend any time until at least Summer. I also want to tell you how cool your project is and that I really don’t want to see it not succeed. If there’s anywhere else you’d like us to boost this like on Twitter or something let us know.
Thank you for your kind words. It’s been hard try to find someone and I completely understand. Its a lot of time that doesn’t really pay well. I’ve been using premiere but after a file corruption. I was thinking about moving to Davinci Resolve. I think I’m gonna try the next episode in Davinci to see how I like it. Ever used it before? Thoughts?
I haven’t used Resolve before. Really only familiar with Premiere and older versions of Vegas, but I heard recently Vegas might not be the best thing to use anymore. File corruption sucks. Were you using an older version of Premiere?
I’m unfortunately not the person you’re looking for but I think this is a great effort and awesome project. I hope you find someone who can help. Feel free to bump the thread in a couple of weeks if it doesn’t get any bites right away. It’s important to keep these games accessible.
I’m actually using premiere right now. I lost a complete episode due to corruption with updating to the newest Adobe Premiere and got pretty mad at it. But if is what everyone uses, I’ll stick with it for sure.
