Xenosaga fan-made flash game?

A few years ago I came across a YouTube video showing gameplay of what appeared to be a Xenosaga flash game. It’s NOT A Missing Year. It looked fan-made and it was a platforming game where you played as KOS-MOS and killed Gnosis. Think Metroid but Xenosaga. Although it wasn’t 16-bit like the original Metroid, KOS-MOS and the enemies and all their animations looked hand-drawn.

I was surprised to see it because it actually looked kinda decent and I was surprised to see that someone had put that much effort into a fan-made game for such a niche series.

But now I can’t find the video.

This sounds super cool if you can find it. For me two things spring to mind.

  1. is this actually flash or another browser based game applet? I wonder if this is a mod for MUGEN fighting games if so.

  2. I vaguely remember a hoax that went around where someone made a vid and said it was an action based sequel to Xenosaga I+II DS in the mid 2000s. It’s been so long idk if I’m hallucinating it but maybe if it did exist this will jog some memories.

I don’t know if it was actually flash. I just use that as an umbrella term for browser-based games even though I know that’s not really accurate.

I also was thinking it might have been MUGEN because I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4_3Y6JXnHM and the sprite for KOS-MOS looks pretty close to what I remember. But this is just a moveset showcase. Also, I thought that the MUGEN engine could exclusively make Street Fighter-style fighting games, not a Metroidvania-style platformer. So idk.

As for the timeline, I only saw this video in the last few years. Like I would say 2020-2024 is when I saw it. So it isn’t that old. The most frustrating part is that I’m pretty sure I liked the video at some point, so I downloaded my Liked Videos playlist as a CSV file but I still couldn’t find it.
