Would love to replay the games on my ds but i cant find anything useful online.
Does anyone know if there are people trying to translate it or is it a hopeless situation?
If nobody here knows of a translation project, then I’d probably assume there isn’t one in the works. I wouldn’t bet on getting to play through them anytime soon without learning Japanese.

I’d do a search for any PCSX2 cheat codes to make Episode 2 less painful. I have a few saved for the japanese version like an encounter toggle. I think I saw a link somewhere on this forum with a summary of the plot differences between 2 PS2 and 2 DS, as well.
There is an on-going translation effort by a small group of people at the moment, but don’t expect it to be finished anytime soon. They are working together on Files from the Zohar’s Discord server. Hopefully, it will be playable in English one day ;w;

Why yes, there are. The Files From The Zohar group spun off into its own group called Vector Translations, and progress has been going very swimmingly in the past year. I’m currently one of the main people working on the project, and in my opinion you can probably expect a full release sometime next year.
In the meantime, we released a demo of the first three chapters of the game (roughly the first two hours or so of gameplay) about a month and a half ago, so you can get a look at how the game plays and how the translation is going. Here’s a link to the announcement post:
We’re also accepting applications for people who want to join the group and help on the translation project (if they have the skills to do so), which you can find in a reply to the post.
