I got into the Xeno series in 2022 through Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, and played through the trilogy over the next year. Torna ~ The Golden Country and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are stories that have stayed with me since I first played them, and the stories and characters that touched my heart inspired me to go back to earlier Xeno works!
Currently playing through the Xenosaga trilogy (and all of the associated media, because god there is a lot), and slowly watching the Xenogears cutscenes through Helsionium’s uploads (I tried the game, but Blackmoon Forest frustrated me to the point that it didn’t feel fun to experience the story through the game itself).
I became interested in joining here specifically after recently becoming active on the Xeno Series Wiki and its attached Discord server! Before this, I’ve mostly connected to communities through Discord… With that being said, this is the first time I’ve properly tried to use a forum space, and I hope it turns out well! Nice to meet you, too! I’ve just finished Episode 1 last week, and I’m processing it while also going through some of the extra stuff that’s Episode 1-centric like the manga adapation, anime adaptation, and Freaks!

Welcome! It’s always great to see new people engage with these games. I can definitely empathize with getting frustrated with xenogears and watching the cutscenes. Hopefully one day we’ll get remakes.

Eyyyyy, glad to see you made it here as well. Interesting to see you’re also relatively new to the Xeno series like I am (I got into it back in 2024). I probably would have taken longer to get into Xenosaga as well if I hadn’t gotten the first game for my birthday right after beating Xenoblade 3.
Always glad to have another person to talk about the Xeno series (and especially Xenosaga) with. Also glad somebody else is interested in the side of the wiki for Saga lol, that is very reassuring.
I’m happy I’m not alone with that Xenogears experience… Remakes would be super cool, but with the rights in Square Enix’s hands all we can do is pray to Zohar…

I personally played through Xenogears and I can definitely understand the friction, speed up and a guide were mandatory for me. But it’s definitely worth finishing the cutscenes if it starts to hook you!

Xenosaga, I’m still very much enjoying interacting with via the games themselves, and that’s hopefully gonna stay consistent when I start Episode II
When i played Xenosaga 2 i thought the game itself was fine but i will never forgive what they did to shions design, how dare they remove her glasses, they looked good on her ! (not sure if this constitutes a spoiler so i marked it just in case)
I’ve seen her render!! it actually broke my heart… but it makes me excited to hopefully someday play a fan-translation of Xenosaga 1&2 on the DS… since I know that Shion’s design stays consistent throughout in that version of the story!
