My gf beat xenoblade for the first time a few days ago but i saw that she was struggling so i put the game in casual mode. Now she’s going to play xenogears soon since neither of us had seen/ played that game and i was wondering if it is hard.
It’s going to depend on what sort of experience she has with games.
The combat is all turn-based so there’s more strategy and less need for fast reaction time. The way to learn deathblows isn’t clear in the game, but there are guides online to help with that. There are a few platforming segments which can be tricky since the game engine wasn’t really made for platforming.
I wouldn’t say it was a difficult game, but there are definitely some frustrating parts. Fortunately, most problems are either “you need to upgrade your equipment” or “you need to level up a bit more.”

I glanced through some story dense areas for both guides to see if they said anything, and neither remarked on the story. Hopefully one of these helps!
nah not really just keep grinding and it will get better as well as keep on upgrading mech parts too
