Playlist thread!

So we have this thread for the official soundtrack, but what are some of your favorite non-Xeno songs that remind you of scenes or characters from Xenosaga? Feel free to link individual songs and/or playlists you’ve compiled on sites like YouTube or Spotify (or wherever the cool kids are listening to music these days).

I’ll start out by embarrassing myself: I made a cringey AMV to Imogen Heap’s Headlock about a million years ago, so I have a permanent association with that one. orz

Evans Blue and BMTH. They’re my favourite bands especially Movements. It’s not embarrassing, I actually watched that video ages ago. When I had the urge to watch AMVs for a while.

If by “cringey” you mean “got me choked up watching MOMO collapse” then I GUESS, I love this song and you did a masterful job lining up the lyrics and the movement of the song with the significance of the footage. Juli unable to face both MOMO and Jr., back to back, because she’s still not ready to process her grief over Sakura? “You know you’re better than this” as her hand is hovering over pulling the plug on MOMO’s brain? “You look half dead half the time/monitoring you like machines do” with Ziggy wavering in and out of consciousness? “You’ve still got it” when she tosses her hair, lmao. WHEN IT HITS THE BRIDGE AND MOMO FALLS, I CAN’T HANDLE IT

This reminds me there was a music video I love for They Might Be Giants’ “Birdhouse in Your Soul” that cast KOS-MOS as the blue canary who watches over you, and I think it’s lost to the ages. :c It was mostly footage from Xenosaga II and I remember it being excellent. It inspired me to buy the nightlight a fan made and I still have it years later; it’s still going strong!

Found this amv of Kos Mos just now i figured i may share here

I have collected many of these in my brain over the years and I’ll post them as I remember them, but the one my brain always goes to is Brand New - Jesus Christ, not only because of the religious imagery but because I think it shares a lot of the themes in general.

Stuff about Brand New

on a complete side note: I do not endorse Jesse Lacey as a human being, and I am incredibly disappointed by that whole situation, and I crinj because this was definitely teenage music for me for weird reasons, but I will defend that they still have some good songs that will stick with me and this is one of them.
