I recently discovered a game called pocket horse jockey on the 3DS and turns out its developed by Gamefreak?! Anyway i’ve been playing it a lot and the loop of breeding horses, putting them in races, trying to do well in those races by playing good solitaire (because for some reason thats how you motivate your horses) and then using that horse to breed a better horse. I highly recommend you give it a try, the game is super silly!!
