Hi All! I have been a fan of xenogears and xenosaga for a long time. I have no idea how I only just found out about this place, but shows how much of a social recluse I am. Anyway, this place looks really cool! Great to interact with other Xeno fans. Sidenote: I have seen a ton of bashing of Xenosaga Episode II, and that’s my favorite…Hoping to find some Episode II love in here. I ID as genderqueer and I use she/her and he/him pronouns.

From my point of view, Episode 2 has some of the most emotional moments of the trilogy, like for example :
The “Rubedo, don’t leave me behind !” moment.
or
the “Look Rubedo, I’m free !” moment.
Too bad a big part of the story has been cut, particularly the events about
Sakura Mizrahi’s death, which is super frustrating IMO…
Ahem, well, moving on.

For me Xenosaga II gets even too much hate, but coming from people who wants to overhype I and III, while as a games they are more or less all in the same category. To be honest, as a whole even Xenosaga I was way less well crafted than Xenogears, and globally the experience was worse.

In fact, in China, the unique change of XS2 has led to its popularity even higher than that of XS1/3. Those who know a little bit of XS will know the “fiasco” of XS2

I also think Xenosaga II is underrated and overhated. I dislike the art style change but I really enjoyed the focus on the URTV plot. I didn’t think playing it was too bad, just a bit grindy.

I love Episode II! XD The Albedo and Jr. parts were my favorites. Still even now I can’t decide who my favorite character is.
