Xeno Iceberg

Hey!

I’ve decided to create a Xeno iceberg (the template where the lower you go the more obscure / dark the information is).

Online I’ve seen a couple already, but I wanted to make the biggest one naturally haha.

So far my iceberg chart has around 201 entries, ranging from “Super Smash Bros.” at the very top (being where many newcomers now discover the franchise) to a theory of the Doctus android being controlled by Melisse Ortus.

Some other iceberg have lots of joke-y or meme entries, which I want to avoid save a couple of memes but simply because they’re so well known that they become in of themselves entry-worthy (such as Xenoblade’s “bestest” meme).

Anyway, what I want to ask is does anyone have any interesting facts or theories for any of the Xeno games? Any forgotten or just really deep cut knowledge that would be fascinating to add to it?

Ohh this is a good one! These kinds of memes can be a fun format for compressing this kind of information.

I know that Xenosaga had a very tremulous development cycle, the Xenochat episodes featuring Pure might be a good listen for these kinds of facts. He has such a deep wealth of knowledge.

Definitely! Reading through these kinda memes always has me wanting to research stuff, so I wanted to make one myself while learning in the process

Oh nice! I’ll have a listen to those then, I’m also gonna dig through the Xenogears & Xenosaga Study Guide for anything interesting. I found out about a Monolith employee leaking certain details about XS1 on a forum through that site so there’s stuff to be found

Tony’s appearance and name were based on Takahashi’s friend, which delights me.
Interviewer: Are there any characters in this game who were modelled on someone in particular?

Takahashi: Yes. I also use people I know for that. (Laughs)
How about Hammer and Tony? The inspiration for Hammer was the same as in my earlier game, but this time he appeared as a human. And the model for Tony was a friend with the same name. But his personality is completely different from the Tony on the Elsa.

Inukai: Tony-san is the director’s Airsoft friend. This might be a bit of digression, but the director can be really immature during Airsoft games! He’ll come out of the woods waving his hands and laughing, and when you think he’s probably on your side and feel safe, you’ll suddenly hear “bangbangbangbang” as he’s gunning you down. Seriously! (Laughs)

Takahashi: Er, I don’t do that, do I? (Laughs)
Finished the first part of the videos based around this iceberg

And here’s the iceberg image itself as of making this video. Any more stuff that gets added will be covered in videos after this initial series

Yoooo I’m definitely throwing this on in the background during work tomorrow!

is MOK-KOS on here

Third row of Tier III  Though spelt as “Moccos”
