Hello! I recently took on a web-project regarding XSI + XSIII’s Databases, as I wanted to make them a tiny bit more available/accessible.

I hope no one really minds that I had fun with the CSS/theming… But for the keen eye, the character decorating the pages is my interpretation of the Durandal’s Motherframe - Pieta.
If it’s annoying though I can always make a more bare-bones stylesheet. But I feel like web creativity is something the world is missing in this current time.
I do actively maintain my site, so there might be changes + extra goodies if you visit after a bit of time. (I am lowkey fighting for my life with the tooltips so I’ll be applying a fix for those sometime in the future, but they work for now I guess. LOL.)
Regardless though, I am missing some of the Japanese Episode III Entries, namely the Story and Battle Tutorials. If anyone has any leads on these, please let me know!

Unfortunately I don’t know how to find the information you’re looking for, but I hope you can find it!
I used to pull from an ancient personal website that housed the Xenogears timeline in a user-friendly way to do research for my Xenogears fanfiction about 10 years ago. No idea if that site is still around, but that was an independent project not too dissimilar from yours, so I have a massive amount of respect for projects like this one.
Hey this is a cool effort! Thanks for doing this for the community. This is a huge improvement over the text files on gamefaqs.
I do have some design notes, if you’d like to hear them to enhance this and make it a little more practical and easy to read, but this seems like a personal passion project for you so I don’t wanna overlap your vision. You’re having fun with it and that’s the most important part.
I think the graphic vibe is off to a good start. I like your art style and the choice to showcase hand drawn art is really unique and cool, helps the site stand out over using the Xenosaga stock images. Though it was not immediately obvious the character was a mascot until I re-read the thread. If you feel up for more drawing, it would be cool to see some Xenosaga characters with them in your style. But I understand that’s a lot of effort.

There are some hat tricks where you can work within the bounds of modern UI and also showcase some creativity and uniqueness. I will say as an older person who has worked in web for a while, there is a reason some web 1.0 habits that are getting popular again in indie circles were abandoned (like iframe/iframe-like designs). But you can do a lot that breaks out of the “horzontal nav and articles” format, or retains that format in a way there your style shines though. If you find that boilerplates are boring you can still take a lot of influence from print and magazines. Things like image and reading real estate, flow, eye scan, etc.
